Like many artists, I have maintained a "laissez-faire" attitude toward mundane household chores, with one notable exception: dirty dishes in the sink. Recently, my daughter moved into my home. An exceptional cook, she whips up gourmet food for the family without breaking a sweat. However, she habitually leaves the remains of her creations; dishes, pots, pans, whatever, piled in the sink until someone else removes them, mainly me. By chance, I began to take notice of the many patterns that were forming in the sink and began photographing them. That is how the photos began and the nagging mom syndrome ended.
