MessageOne of the real challenges of doing plein air events ("plein air," of course, just means "outdoors", but us Americans like how using French makes stuff more legitimate sounding) is that one must take the weather into account. I was out on Cape Ann in October 2019 for an event, and the weather was cold and rainy and most of all windy. I drove out to Singing Beach one day, but when I saw a collie go airborne, only saved when its owner reeled the leash back in like she was landing a marlin, I decided against setting up there. Instead, I went inland a little bit, and found a sheltered dell where this crossing gate and I kept each other company and watched the commuter trains roll by.
