Charlie Hunter is a cheerful guy who paints drippy portraits of decaying American infrastructure in Bellows Falls, Vermont.
MessageThis 1965 Chevy was quietly attempting to decompose on the side of the road at Hackbarney. People who know more about Chevys than do I nod their heads at that painting and say, "Oh, a Bel-Air! The Impalas have three lights on a side." It makes me feel like I've done my job well, when the cognoscenti can tell the species as well as the genus of a particular bit of vintage American engineering. This was painted user the watchful eye of Richard Schmid at two sessions of the Putney Painters this past winter.
