My passion is for expressing myself as a creative by envisioning, capturing, and coaxing out the extraordinary in the ordinary appearance of abstractions, architecture, reflections, nature, and shadowed forms through the lens of my camera followed by the application of my artistic ingenuity in the post-processing stage of my photographic work.
From joining other artists in local gallery exhibits to having my work selected for a newly opened women’s health center to creating a line of greeting cards, my journey has followed a trajectory that I could not have imagined fifty years ago when I raised my first camera ~ a black and white Swinger ~ to my eye, focused on a subject, pressed the shutter button, and captured images of family and friends. Many of those photos have faded over time…but the love of photography was indelibly ingrained on my heart from that point on.
Public participation is a stretch for me ~ an introvert, but I am grateful for this season. I value learning from other emerging and established artists, refining my skills, and finding the courage to become an extroverted introvert presenting my art to the world with my camera still swinging in my hand.
