My name is Kym Cooper and I am a cubist surrealist artist. I am originally from New York; but, moved to Greensboro in March 2020 due to the pandemic. I have always painted abstractly and sculpted; but, I had time to take my artwork to the next level when I retired from teaching and administration. I have traveled all over the world and much of my paintings are influenced from my travels and how Afro-Americans have contributed to the growth of this democracy from 1619 to the present. I love using a range of materials from buttons to artificial plants and textile scraps.
