A little about myself...Presently, I am a retired teacher of Guilford County. I was a teacher of exceptional children for 30 years and after retirement I tutored in the area of reading at a local school until the COVID crises. I began working in clay. in 1991 at the Center for Visual Arts. I had no idea working with clay was going to become a passion. Pottery provides me with an endless opportunity for learning, an avenue to creativity, and pure joy. As the name of my work suggests, Peace of Mind Pottery.
I create my pieces mainly by using slabs of clay, molds and a variety of textures. The glazing is a constant challenge. I am always trying to find the glaze that accents the shape and texture of each piece.
