this image is the fourth in a series of works on animals/cryptids on the border that have evolved special adaptations/behaviors to deal with environmental disasters. The first being the Chupacabra at Boca Chica Beach, the second a Shape-shifting ocelot, the third a turtle with rocket Boosters. In this image a Texas Horned Lizard has grown to the size of Godzilla and is fighting with the likes of LNG and offshore drilling companies. His rays come from his eyes and not his mouth as horned lizards do. There are references to my love of printmaking here with the Hokusai's Great Wave making an appearance and an oil rig being mounted on the back of a Posada spider.
