Continuing the dialogue begun in its square counterpart, this rectangular composition extends the narrative of layered elements that share an identity yet remain distinct. The same daily recorded plant serves as the foundation, overlaid with a ghostly impression of Plant Series 2: Masked Cavendish 3 and the original hand drawn sketch made four weeks later on 11 December 2020.
The elongated format accentuates the horizontal flow of the semi transparent strata, guiding the eye across the piece as if walking through a quiet hallway of thought. A somber, dark plum field embraces the work, its depth contrasting with the lighter, almost ethereal layers within, suggesting that order and calmness can arise from disorder and anxiety with the healing of time and the power of art.
