An original hand drawn sketch, masked and multiplied to create an image of a living thing struggling to rise from darkness. Sketch 2, 14/11/2020, with black masks and red texture. During the pandemic I made journal sketches of one plant growing over 6 months, talismans of difficult times. Later, learning digital art while very ill, the theme of visible struggle –to learn, to create, to heal – became central to my work.
