This postcard-sized artwork is based on the first sketch in my pandemic journal made on remembrance day (11 November) 2020. It begins from the pencil drawn image of the small plant that I drew repeatedly. This has then been transmuted into a stylised 'barely there' idea of the same plant through digital masking techniques. The inner image is an homage to my 'Plant Series 1' from which the flat vector artwork has been taken. This version maintains sight of the hand drawn sketch but plays with the idea of tiles, frames, signatures and where the 'real' plant has gone. A small, bright piece of hope after so much darkness and chaos.
