The painting "ORION SEA " is a commercial salmon troller and holds a special place in my heart. She was built at the Queensborough B.C. shipyard in 1974 by my father-in-law . Over the course of of her time she has traveled on the BC coastline as well as Oregon to southern Alaska. I also had the experience of fishing on her and now after the sale to a family friend, my daughter deckhands on her too.
The artwork depicts a detailed and vibrant scene of a boat docked at a pier. The boat, named "Orion Sea," is front and center in the composition, showcasing its intricate design and structure. Two individuals are on the boat; one is seated while the other stands, both engaged in preparation for a voyage. The vessel is equipped with various nautical elements, including buoys, ropes, and fishing equipment. The background features a calm body of water and a distant tree line under a bright blue sky, creating a serene and peaceful atmosphere. Rich colors and precise details convey a realistic yet artistically compelling maritime scene.
