London's Bridges map out the route of the Thames. Westminster Bridge is a particularly fine example. This view from the Terrace of the Houses of Parliament shows the London Eye towering over the River Thames. Watchful, like the Eye of Sauron, but with a much friendlier effect.
The picture is painted on watercolour paper. I create a pencil image and then go over all the lines with masking fluid before painting it with a watercolour wash which gets covered with clingfilm. Once this is removed the picture is further developed using acrylic inks which are left to dry before the masking is removed to reveal the final picture.
