The CIS Building used to be the first thing you could see of the City Centre whenever you went into Manchester. The Cooperative society began in Rochdale and being close to Manchester it developed it's base here. The CIS tower was, for many years, the tallest building in Manchester and the tallest outside London in the UK. Now, overtaken by Beetham's Tower, it is still a local Landmark and worthy of note. The view was discovered in a walk around in the Northern Quarter.
Creation
The picture is painted on watercolour paper. She draws the lines with masking fluid to a planned arrangement before painting it with a watercolour wash which gets covered with clingfilm. Once this is removed the picture is further developed using acrylic inks which are left to dry before the masking is removed to reveal the final picture.
