The first thing Catherine ever drew was a horse. It's no surprise that drawing and painting horses is still something she loves to do.
At an age when most young riders are giving up their horses, Catherine finally was able to get my own. She learned to care for and ride horses over the last 25 years, and to this day is thrilled every time she can ride. Along the way, she took up the sport of dressage, made famous by the Lippizan horses of Vienna, Austria. Horses, however, often perform the movements taught to dressage horses, all on their own. That is what this painting is about.
A fine white lippizan horse performing a work-in-hand movement, a pirouette. As a lifelong horse fan, Catherine can completely enjoy painting them and live vicariously through the horse paintings.
This original painting is in a beautiful floating frame and is ready to hang.
