This was my grandmother's tray that seemed to pair so well with this shell. The shell was from Sedona, where I attended a couple of painting workshops. Sedona is a very uniquely beautiful place; every time I look at this shell I'm reminded or it. My grandmother, on the other hand, was from the Depression era and was as strong as an ox. It's hard for me to imagine her using this fancy tray, but it was the times. The colors of the objects vibrate against each other in their complimentary way. I adore painting seashells and always look forward to the next one.
This is an oil on archival board. The art is 6 X 6" framed in a gorgeous antiqued gold custom floating frame that adds another 3 - 4" to the dimensions all around. It would be lovely paired with the other two still lives in this series.
This painting was exhibited in the prestigious Randy Higbee exhibition in Costa Mesa, California.
