When travelling through the Great Southern of Western Australia I stopped to do a plein air painting of this fantastic moody scene at Ocean Beach in Denmark. The estuary was open and the colour change with the fresh watyewr running into the sea was fascinating. I loved the limestone cliffs as they crumble into the sand and the haze of coastal rain as it moves in over the distant hills.
