While travelling through Central Australia we camped in remote Gemtree Caravan Park. As it was early January it was incredibly hot and water was in short supplyso the native birdlife would come down to drink water from some of the taps that dripped water that comes from deep underground. I would sit with my camera quietly as various birds would fly in and it felt like I could feel the air pushed from their wings as they would fight each other for who could have the best spot for a drink. I have a series of photos that I will eventually make into various paintings. This picture makes you feel this cheeky galah could almost fly right into you at any second.
