I focus on representational oil painting that often involves people being themselves and presenting them in a way that triggers memories for the viewer.
MessageThe first in my Colonial Williamsburg series. This fellow was seated in the back room of the foundry working hard on a project. The light streaming in from the window and door cracked open on a lovely Spring day just fascinated me. I wanted to get the solidness and concentration of the craftsman as well as a sense of place in this painting. This painting sold the second day it was on display at the RAL Art Center Gallery. A week later it was awarded a First Place blue ribbon at the RAL Art Center Labor Day Show 2019.
