This fellow was waiting at the dock shed of the Reedville, VA Fish Market one morning in early April when I happened along and took his photo. The photo turned out to be over exposed in the background and very under exposed in the foreground, but I kept coming back to it and knew it would make a great painting. His posture and the look he gave me seem to really capture the struggle of the local watermen.
