Tappahannock Art Guild made arrangements with the owners of Kendall Farms in Essex County, VA for a bunch of artists to come out and paint one Saturday. As I drove up, the rain from the night before was just coming to an end. I set up under cloudy skies and fairly flat light. Just as I finished my block-in (see second photo), the sun bursts out and I ended up with a much more exciting piece.
