I focus on representational oil painting that often involves people being themselves and presenting them in a way that triggers memories for the viewer.
MessageFor the past several years the local farmers have been raising rapeseed which is then harvested and turned into canola oil. These intense yellow flowers only last for about a week and they have attracted me like a moth to a flame for paintings. This year it was only with the help of a fellow artist who also loves the yellow punch put out the word that we were seeking to paint the canola oil fields again. It seemed most of the farmers this year were focusing on grains. But a friend of a family member of hers let her know about these fields. Three of us appeared on a beautiful day in mid-April on this back country road. The fields stretched on and on and we each found a wonderful location from which to set up and paint.
