I focus on representational oil painting that often involves people being themselves and presenting them in a way that triggers memories for the viewer.
MessageAt the Governor's Palace at Colonial Williamsburg, this young man was working as the gate keeper checking tickets and passes but it was slow day so he had the opportunity to catch up on his reading. As the artist, my eye caught the light across his stockings contrasting with the deep shadows beneath the bench. I tried to capture the cool Spring sunlight and the pleasure of being out of doors on a very fine day.
