MessageThis woman looked exhausted when I snapped her photo and introduced myself to her. I took other photos, but it was this first that really captured her day, I think. What you don't see in the painting is her cane leaning against the bench up under her skirt and the modern medical boot she was wearing on one foot and the black sports shoe on the other. The mix of modern and historic were a little comical. But I loved her face and her hands and arms and most of all her apron, her skirt and bodice and the clothe she used to dry her hands. The day had warmed and she had draped her green cloak over the back of the bench where she was resting.
