I focus on representational oil painting that often involves people being themselves and presenting them in a way that triggers memories for the viewer.
MessageThe farmers of Northumberland County, Virginia in the last few years have started to branch out from the soy/wheat/corn cycle and inserted canola (rapeseed) in as an alternative to the wheat. The eye popping yellows of the flowers in bloom (literally for miles), gets every landscape painter outside with cameras and easels just soaking it all in. Unfortunately, the show only lasts about a month when the flowers all fall off and we get to see a sea of green for several months, then brownie grey for a while until harvest.
