Shamrock V was the fifth yacht in which Sir Thomas Lipton attempted to win the America’s Cup, 31 years after his first attempt. The designer was Charles E. NIcholson, an icon of British yacht design. Shamrock V belonged to the J-Class, the most elegant class of boats to have participated in the America’s Cup.

She was 120 feet in length, her beam was 19 feet, 9 inches, her draft was 15 feet 6 inches and her sail area totaled 7, 540 sq ft.
