Ohio University, 1970, BFA with a major in painting Continuing education at Orange Art Center, current Cleveland Institute of Art and Cooper School of Art, 1970s Due to a serious illness as a child, I spent many hours teaching myself drawing and painting through the help of books and a devoted father who encouraged me. In the 1980s, I opened with two other artists my first studio gallery. Later, I operated a solo studio in Cleveland’s Little Italy arts district . I have exhibited in many juried and invitational shows throughout Ohio. I also have patrons across the U.S.
carta owns a large collection of artwork by Cleveland area artists, both for adults and children, and purchases about $25,000 of new art annually. We further our mission by donating annual scholarships to Cleveland Institute of Art students and provide educational activities to enhance awareness of area artists.
