Lauren Davies is an artist based in Cleveland, Ohio and was a Fall/Winter 2022 Artist-in-Residence at the Joan Mitchell Center in New Orleans.
Davies recently relocated to the Cleveland area after many years in San Francisco where she received her MFA in sculpture from the San Francisco Art Institute. She has exhibited her mixed media installations, sculpture and drawings in the Bay Area at The Oakland Museum, De Saisset Museum, The Exploratorium, Yerba Buena Center for the Arts, The Headlands, The Intersection, U.C. Davis/Nelson Gallery, Gallery 16 and ampersand international arts. In 2014 she presented an installation at Dose Projects in Brooklyn. Davies has been an artist-in-residence at the California Academy of Sciences, Djerassi Resident Artists Program, Santa Fe Art Institute, The Lab and La Porte Peinte in France. She received an Ohio Arts Council Individual Excellence Award in 2015.
carta owns a large collection of artwork by Cleveland area artists, both for adults and children, and purchases about $25,000 of new art annually. We further our mission by donating annual scholarships to Cleveland Institute of Art students and provide educational activities to enhance awareness of area artists.
