Born and raised in Northwest Alabama, and currently based in Cleveland, OH, Lane Cooper is an artist, curator, and writer. She has exhibited widely and this past March her work appeared in River House Arts’ curatorial project “Cake,” at the Spring/Break Art Show, NYC. She has written essays and reviews for a variety of platforms including Sculpture Magazine. Her curatorial projects have appeared regionally in venues such as the Cleveland State University Galleries, the Sculpture Center, and Waterloo Arts. She is an Associate Professor of Painting at the Cleveland Institute of Art.

carta owns a large collection of artwork by Cleveland area artists, both for adults and children, and purchases about $25,000 of new art annually. We further our mission by donating annual scholarships to Cleveland Institute of Art students and provide educational activities to enhance awareness of area artists.
