Harriet Moore Ballard is a 1987 graduate of the Cleveland Institute of Art and has an MFA from the Instituto de Allende, San Miguel de Allende, Mexico.
I like interacting structural spaces with random spaces, such as a grid with a spontaneous splotch. I also like to mix abstract marks with recognizable forms, such as a doodle that looks ‘bowl-like’.
My subject matter comes from a hodge-podge of objects and marks from my everyday life, which I access at will.
carta owns a large collection of artwork by Cleveland area artists, both for adults and children, and purchases about $25,000 of new art annually. We further our mission by donating annual scholarships to Cleveland Institute of Art students and provide educational activities to enhance awareness of area artists.
