Artist: Gwen Cooper (d. 2018)
Gwen Cooper embarked on an enriching educational journey, attending respected institutions such as Hathaway Brown School, Skidmore College, and the University of Minnesota, ultimately earning a Master of Fine Arts from both the Cleveland Institute of Art and Kent State University. After dedicating 30 years to shaping the minds of aspiring artists as an art professor, she retired from the Institute of Art, leaving behind a remarkable legacy. Renowned for her exceptional teaching abilities in drawing, printmaking, design, and painting, she inspired countless students throughout her career. Notably, she played a pivotal role in developing and chairing the Institute's Papermaking Department, further showcasing her commitment to expanding the boundaries of artistic education.
