Frank Hadzima is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Fine Arts in painting from the Cleveland Institute of Art. Born in Cleveland Ohio, he primarily works in oil paint and gouache, focusing on the human figure in an atmospheric setting. He aims to challenge the viewer’s perception by consciously depicting uncomfortable scenes from the internet. There is a dichotomy between beauty and discomfort in his work in reference to his technique compared to his subject matter and he finds humor in that juxtaposition.
He is a recipient of the Gund Family Scholarship and an honorable mention in CIA’s 75th Student Independent Exhibition. He has exhibited his work at Maria Neil Art Project and Cleveland Public Library and is currently preparing for a month-long solo exhibition at Phone Gallery in August 2022.
