Egle Ellie Janusauskaite is a professional floral designer and a self - taught Biophilic artist whose work celebrates the harmony between nature and design.
Originally from Lithuania, Ellie moved to the United States over 30 years ago and has made her home in Chesterland, Ohio, where she continues to draw inspiration from the natural beauty that surrounds her.
With decades of experience in the floral industry - as a designer, department manager, and mass market buyer - Egle has developed a deep understanding of flowers, plants and natural materials.
In 2019 she opened her own studio, Natural Decor Studio, where she began her personal journey of highlighting nature's raw beauty through eco-conscious design.
Her mission is to inspire a deeper connection with nature and to demonstrate the positive effects of bringing natural elements into indoor spaces.
Ellie's signature style blends contemporary European design with strong emphasis on organic textures, earthy color palette, and sustainable practices.
She is the best known for her Biophilic wall art and preserved botanical compositions- original works crafted entirely from natural, sustainably harvested elements such as moss, ferns, bark, lichens, mushrooms, and branches. Many of these materials are personally foraged by Egle during her walks in nature, and lovingly transformed into striking visual landscapes that mimic forests, woodlands, and other serene natural environments.
Her discovery of preserved plants and mosses- living elements that retain their vibrant and lush appearance for years without the need for maintenance- allowed Egle to combine two lifelong passions: the love of nature and art ( a commitment to innovative design) This medium became central to her practice, enabling her to create lasting works of art for both private collectors and corporate clients across the country.
Egle received formal art training at Kaunas College of Arts in Lithuania, and later completed professional floral design and advanced floral design programs at the Chicago Floral Art School in 2003 and 2004. She continues to expand her knowledge through ongoing education in the field of Biophilic Design, attending national and international trade shows and lectures led by leading designers and leaders in the industry.
Egles work has been featured in numerous exhibitions and art and craft shows, and twice selected for inclusion in the prestigious International Floral Art catalogue- a global publication that showcases excellence in Floral and Biophilic Art.
Statement from the artist.
Nature is my biggest inspiration for my creativity and everything in life. I constantly look to Nature to learn compassion, gratitude and an understanding for art and for life. Everything in Nature invites me to experiment, to enjoy and to implement its elements into my designs and to share it with you.
