Artist: David King
David King is a contemporary artist who focuses on translating photographic images into lush paintings, created with oil paint, oil stick, chalk pastel and acrylic. King works with images of people, often his family members and those in historic photographs, and develops stories of the past through his paintings and drawings. He received an MFA from Kent State University, has taught high school art for 30 years at Chagrin Falls High School, and currently works in his studio in Cleveland Heights.
David has a distinguished history of exhibitions, with a focus on realism, solo museum shows, and repeated inclusion in major national and regional juried exhibitions since the late 1980s.
