Central to Goode’s work is his commitment to illuminating the beauty and complexity of the Cleveland community. His recent series, "RAW VISION," critiques societal perceptions surrounding women, domestic violence, and beauty, showcasing the beauty found in overlooked life aspects. Focusing on domestic violence, he examines how trauma erupts into urban settings, using found objects like shoes and handbags in his sculptures to symbolize this pervasive issue.
Dale Goode's resurgence in recognition has brought his work to a broader audience, particularly through exhibitions at 78th Street Studios. His innovative monoprinting techniques transform found objects into vibrant works of art.
Growing up in a large family, Dale's upbringing significantly influenced his artistic narrative and connection to the urban landscape. After graduating from East Tech High School, he furthered his education with courses at the Cleveland Institute of Art. Goode has also created a notable mural for boxing promoter Don King and cites artists such as David Hammons and Anselm Kiefer as significant influences, particularly in exploring themes of abandonment and renewal.
Dale Goode's art is celebrated not only in private collections but also in major institutions, including the Urban League of Greater Cleveland, the NAACP of Cleveland, and the Butler Institute of American Art. His work invites audiences to engage deeply with the stories and issues inherent in the community, offering a profound perspective on the human experience.
