Claudia Brown, a talented artist who graduated from the Cleveland Institute of Art in 1970, embarked on a creative journey that initially centered on the intricate realms of sculpture and ceramics. As she pursued her Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA), Claudia developed a profound fascination with transparent glazes, captivated by the interplay of light and texture, and how these elements could transform the tactile experience of her pieces. However, as life often presents unforeseen challenges, a physical handicap ultimately hindered her ability to work with clay, leading her to pivot back to her artistic roots in painting. In her stunning oil and watercolor works, Claudia continues to explore her love for light, employing veils of pigment reminiscent of her earlier explorations with glazes.
