Originally from Minneapolis, Andrea Joki graduated from the University of Wisconsin, Madison with a B.S. in Art and followed with a Masters of Fine Arts from Kent State University in 2006. She has enjoyed opportunities to travel, work and exhibit abroad with past funding from Cuyahoga County's Community Partnership for Arts and Culture, Kent State University, the Ohio Arts Council and the Carl Duisberg Foundation. Most recently she received a grant for an artist residency at the Vermont Studio Center in 2011. Joki's work has been exhibited widely and in Cleveland she has shown at Spaces (Spacelab), Zygote Press, The Cleveland Museum of Art and the Beck Center for the Arts. Her work is in the collection of Progressive Insurance, Cleveland Clinic, Cleveland Art Association, and numerous private collections.
carta owns a large collection of artwork by Cleveland area artists, both for adults and children, and purchases about $25,000 of new art annually. We further our mission by donating annual scholarships to Cleveland Institute of Art students and provide educational activities to enhance awareness of area artists.
