Artist: Amani Williams
Amani Williams is a drawer and painter who lives and works in Cleveland, OH. She graduated from the Cleveland Institute of Art in Drawing in 2021. Using mainly oil paint and oil pastels to produce her work, she is interested in human behavior and disrupting cultural norms. She curated Snickers That Turn Into Livable Joy in the Student + Alumni Gallery at the Cleveland Institute of Art in August of 2021. Her work has been exhibited in a number of group shows including Waterloo Arts Juried Exhibition and MOCHA x Morgan Conservatory: Cross Generations; Bridging the Gaps. She has been featured in CAN Journal, Canvas Magazine and Link Magazine, of the Cleveland Institute of Art. She is a member of the Waterloo Arts Gallery Committee along with the Exhibitions and Collections Specialist at the Reinberger Gallery. She was featured in CAN Triennial: You Are Here at the Morgan Conservatory and The Cleveland State University Galleries. Along with a solo show as a result of a residency at Deep Dive Art Projects, Coming at You Red, Hot and Full of Desire. She was apart of MAPC Installation; We Want More, in Reinberger Gallery at the Cleveland Institute of Art in October and the Fine Print Fair 2022 at the Cleveland Museum of Art.
carta owns a large collection of artwork by Cleveland area artists, both for adults and children, and purchases about $25,000 of new art annually. We further our mission by donating annual scholarships to Cleveland Institute of Art students and provide educational activities to enhance awareness of area artists.
