A young daughter of close friends saw the sun break through the dark clouds at the end of a violent storm. The young girl saw this transformation as a sign from heaven, and no adult skepticism (nor any attempt to explain the behavior of clouds) disturbed her adamant belief. I have tried, in this portrait, not only for a physical likeness but also to reflect a child’s faith and optimism.

These friends have three beautiful daughters, and I had each of the girls model for me for my series Strong Women of the Bible.
