This painting was a compilation of views of several different jellyfish tanks I saw both at the Duluth Aquarium and the Minnesota Zoo. While visiting the MN Zoo I came across a tank and was transfixed by the eerie glow and gentle movement of the jellyfish. Their moving up and down in the water and gracefully opening and closing their umbrella-like covering was hypnotizing. These are such small beautiful fish with such a painful sting. They float so gently, slowly, ephemerally in all directions with such elegant movements.
