I have wanted to use gold leaf in my artwork for years . Recently, I traveled to LA and took classes and instruction at the Kline Academy of Fine Art using oil and gold leaf. This small painting is my first foray into using this medium. The landscape spoke to me as ideal for using gold leaf. I used it to push the glowing, shimmering light and moody feel of the sunset in this faraway land. The painting is inspired by a gorgeous wedding in Darjeeling, India.
