One afternoon, this little girl visited my studio accompanied by a good friend of mine, who is the little girl’s very proud and loving grandma.
The child looked around briefly at my work and then asked to be allowed to work on her own paintings. Given materials and workspace, she sat and painted for two hours, lost in her own world and reverie, painting whatever moved her. Her grandma was the beneficiary of all her granddaughter’s artwork.
The little girl went home with brushes, paints, paper, and her special beret, promising to return one day as a great artist with more art. I believe her entirely.
