Collection: Choctaw Heritage Collection x
Lidded jar with sculpture depicting Choctaw life. It shows a potter gathering clay by the river. Wheel-thrown, black underglaze, carved with Native American symbols and patterns. Shadow Mountains on one side, hummingbird on the other, with the Choctaw diamond rattlesnake pattern at the shoulder. Inside is glazed in bright turquoise.
Purchased by the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma Museum in Tuskahoma, OK for their permanent collection.
