The cultures of many Southeastern Indian tribes, such as the Choctaw, used stories to pass down legends and historical information. In one story I read, Cloud People were briefly mentioned. Since then I've searched for more information about the Cloud People, without success. The impression I got was they were guardians of a sort, possibly ancestors, watching over Choctaw people, children in particular. I may be all wrong, but nonetheless, this painting is my interpretation of Cloud People or Guardians. If you have information to share, I'd love to hear from you!
