The Duomo Cathedral is one of the largest churches in the world and is located at the center of Milan in Piazza del Duomo. It is an elegant mass of marble comprised of 135 spires and 3,400 carved statues.
Commissioned in 1386, by Gian Galeazzo Visconti, the Duomo was not finished until about 500 years later, in the early 1800s.
