Worth Family Nature Preserve WInter by carol strock wasson Image: The preserve is a incredibly simple yet beautiful place to walk and enjoy winter. I am lucky enough to live near some of the Darke County Parks. With this painting my hope was to capture the quiet feel of a typical snow-covered path in the preserve. I used a variety of techniques under the pastel. If you look closely, you will find gold acrylic paint under some of the snow. I felt the gold was a vital part of the painting, showing the hidden richness of the natural world, sometimes we don’t even see it until we stop and pay attention.
