Early Fall Floral

An area of nature is depicted with emphasis on color, texture, and lighting. I built the painting in layers working from large washy color and value shifts in the under layers, toward shapes, then thicker details in the upper layers. I worked from photographic research, but my intuition always guides my color choices and next moves as I paint.
