Where the figurative could not answer, raw materials began to speak for themselves, asking for a life lived by a different set of rules.
MessageAcrylic paint skin, dye, encased in resin. Pieces of dried acrylic protrude from the resin adding to the 3D effect and texture.
Part of the series "Web of Recurrence", this piece pushes the medium's limits beyond the intended use.
The usually discarded, dried medium is encased in resin, layer by layer. The result is an aesthetically striking and perfectly still moment of calculated discord. This portal to a new beginning proves that higher than actuality, stands possibility.
It all began when I started saving my paint scraps. They were too beautiful to throw out – the colors, the textures. Soon I ended up with a full collection, hanging on my wall in Ziploc bags, waiting for the right medium. It had to be something that would allow them to shine, showcase their unique beauty. Resin was IT.
Ready to hang (French cleat system, indent cavity into the back of the piece + wooden wall piece, included)
