With this painting, I returned to the exploration of narrative and symbolism in my work. While these elements have been in my work, I've chosen to focus on these aspects even more.

Symbolism, in my opinion, can be personal, cultural and universal. As such, the meaning derived from a cut up apple or a key may mean something a little different for you than it does for me. So rather than a painting (or elements within) only having a singular meaning, those who view the work broaden the story and narrative by bringing their own experiences and ideas into a work.
