Cradled panel is finished with a clear varnish on the sides, wired and ready to hang. Signed, titled and dated on the back. One of my favorite ways of working is to begin with collage material on panel, then begin adding layers of paint along with the subject I'm painting. Here I've used pages from an old book and newspaper ads, and highlighted certain words. The cardinal pictured here was one that I photographed in my backyard.
