This is a painting from 2007 that I decided needed a reworking. The original painting began with good ideas, but in the end, I felt I played things too safely, that I didn't take any chances or risks.
As I began reworking on the painting, I wrote the following one the canvas: "Some days I feel uncertain and need to remind myself to let go of the thoughts and distractions that prevent me from reaching my potential." The handwritten message eventually was covered up with layers, though I did write this on the backside of the painting for posterity.
